Role Play a Principle Students role play how a scripture passage can solve a problem. Use a Character Students solve a modern day problem as if they were a scripture character. Use a Principle Students solve a modern-day problem with principles found in the scriptures. Relate a Story Students identify the similarities between a story from the Ensign or New Era and an individual in the scriptures. Share Experiences Students share experiences about how the use of a principle has helped them. Relate CES Videos Students identify how principles of the gospel are applied in CES videos. Substitute Your Name Students substitute their names for the names in the verses. Mark Your Favorite Verse Students mark their favorite verse of the lesson and share it with the class. Take Home a Message Write on the board - Take Home Message. After certain lessons, ask students what message they want to take home and use from the scripture verses they have studied. Write the message on the board and challenge students to take it home. Write a Problem Students write a problem they feel a scripture passage can solve. How a Character Responds Students suggest how they think a character in the scriptures would respond to a modern day situation. I Know it is True Students check off on the board something they know is true; prayer, scriptures, priesthood, missionary work, etc. They share why they know it is true. Feeling Activities Bear Testimony The teacher and students or teacher share testimonies of the truth of a gospel principle. Express Feelings Students express their thoughts and feelings about principles, doctrines, and events from the scriptures. Take Time to Ponder Students quietly ponder a passage or a principle. Write Your Feelings Students write and share what they felt from the scriptures or the lesson. Sing a Hymn Students sing a hymn related to a principle in a scipture passage. Share Musical Numbers Students with musical talents play or sing a musical number related to a principle or a scripture passage. Share an Experience Students or the teacher share stories or experiences that show the value of a gospel principle. Listen to Music Students listen to CES or Church related music as they read the scriptures silently. Watch CES Video Clips Students watch a CES or Church video clip that may touch their hearts.
